World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation

This is celebrated every 1st September and the Season of Creation extends from this date to 4th October, the feast of St Francis of Assisi.
The Season of Creation is an annual Christian celebration dedicated to renewing our relationship with God and all of creation through
prayer, action, and commitment.
In Pope Francis’ message for this Day, entitled ‘Hope and act with Creation’, he said: “The theme is drawn from Saint Paul’s Letter
to the Romans (8:19-25), where the Apostle explains what it means for us to live according to the Spirit and focuses on the sure
hope of salvation that is born of faith, namely, newness of life in Christ.”
This Season of Creation invites Christians to celebrate God as Creator and to recognise the ongoing divine act of creation that calls us to
be co-creators, caring for all that God has made. Through concrete actions inspired by faith, we can embody the hope of resurrection and work together to bring forth the first fruits of hope, nurturing a dynamic future for our planet and all its inhabitants. (www.rcadc.org)
