Peace Sunday 2025 19th January

Peace Sunday is an opportunity for us to reflect on peace issues and on the message that the Pope publishes
for the World Day of Peace on the 1st January.
This year, the theme of Pope Francis’ message is ‘Forgive us our trespasses: grant us your Peace’.
The message is a message of hope and how, in a year of Jubilee, we can put ourselves and others on a journey of hope and a journey towards the peace we all desire.
Pope Francis says that the Jubilee must spur us on to confront injustice and inequality. If we are to make the changes we need,
we must finally recognise that we are all sons and daughters of the one Father, that we are all in his debt and that we are
all indebted to one another and need each other.

There is a 2nd collection this weekend for Pax Christi. It promotes Peace Sunday and the Pope’s message
with the support of the International Affairs Department of the Bishops’ Conference.
