“It is finished.”
The purpose of the Incarnated Word come down to earth is finished - the Redemption was now complete. The Son had obedient unto death to accomplish the work which His Father had given Him. When these short yet powerful words were announced from Christ's Lips, nothing can be reversed. How terrifying it is for Satan! The gates of Heaven can be reopen again! Man can be freed from the devils' clutches! Jesus died on Cross - is a sign of Love, for our salvation. Who does not want to die with dignity? Yet He died in a most terrified, most shameful death, poured out all His Most Precious Blood, so that we were bought and paid for. Every time we walk into a Catholic Church, we can see Jesus stretched out His Arms on the Cross, waiting for us, like He is saying: ‘Come to Me, my child. See how I died for you on the Cross. I Love you.’ "Totally love Him, who gave Himself totally for your love."
- St Clare of Assisi
“Father, into your hands I commend my spirit.”
Even He is God Himself, with the greatest love, sufferings, sacrifice, effort to accomplished His Father's Will, never and not even His very final words He sought for his own praise and glory. Rather He humbled and emptied Himself and return His spirit - the essence and the most precious thing of a being, back to the Father's Hands. On the other hand, He showed us the sweetness and peace of total abandonment to God...Never forget, we are the work of God's Hands, with Love He formed us from dust, His unending Love is always there for us, the fallen of men had not made Him abandoned or give up on us. We are being loved. From the Cross, Jesus also showed us, after our pilgrim in this world, there is a 'home' that we can go back to. We are not orphans, we do have our Heavenly Father that we can return to. Our pains, sorrows, sufferings, sacrifices...God can see them all. His embrace are always open like His Hands are always stretch out on the Cross, for us to come back to Him and commend everything to Him, even our sins... so that within His Most Sacred Heart we can have our rest, consolation and peace. Jesus, who is the Way, with His final Words, pointed out for us and gave us this hope to Heaven
