Reciting the Holy Rosary
To pray the Rosary well, we need to have faith, because faith alone is the key to the understanding of all the Holy Rosary's Mysteries of Jesus and Mary. That is why we pray the Creed at beginning of our Rosary, and should recite it with great attention and devotion. Our Rosary will have more merits if our faith is stronger. To profitably pray the Rosary, we need to be in God's grace or at least pursuing it. Also, the Rosary is different from other devotion, because it needs to be recite with meditation on the sacred Mysteries, otherwise it would almost be like a soulless body. As Our Lady taught Blessed Alan de la Roche in a vision that, it is a most pleasing homage to Her when people say one hundred and fifty Hail Marys, and this prayer is very helpful to them. But if they recite these Angelic Salutations while meditating on the Life, Passion and Glory of Jesus Christ, that will please Her even more because such meditation is the soul of this prayer. Lastly, the Rosary must be prayed with great attention because God listens more to the voice from our hearts than from our lips. Indeed, it is not easy to pray the Rosary without distractions and our imagination can never be still, yet we need to try our best to avoid them. Maybe you can try St Louis de Monfort's suggestion by imagining that you are in the presence of God, both God and Mary is watching you. If your Hail Marys are well said then your Guardian Angel will take them as roses to make Jesus' and Mary's crowns. But if the Hail Marys were said unattentively, then the devil will snatch them and record them in his book.
