The Incarnation (1)
Before Jesus came, the people of God learned about God but did not really understand. The pagans knew there is God, but can only imagine how God is like with human thinking. Indeed, we cannot possibly know about Divinity unless God reveal this to human, since our human nature is very limit in all aspects: senses, ability, intelligence and imagination. Therefore, some worshipped God but with fear, some kept God's Law just as a rule of life, some knew God but they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him (Rom. 1:21)...and that is not really what God wants. He does not want us to feel that our distance with God is a million miles away, neither He wants us to only fear Him. God wants us to know Him, to be with Him, to love Him, to be in a close relationship like back in the Garden of Eden between God with Adam and Eve that was long lost...'You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind.' As a human, it is natural for us to see in order to believe, to know in order to understand, to be loved in order to know what love is. Throughout the centuries before Christ, God showed His Love to His children through His Prophets and His wonderful Works, yet they still do not understand. God knows, He knows our weakness, our fragility, our ignorance. But God Loves us so and He wants to be with us so, with His unimaginable Love thus did an unimaginable thing - the Incarnation.
